1. Download Oracle JDK 8 from Oracle website. You need to accept license agreement to be able to download the file. Make sure you select the Mac OS X x64 platform (jdk-8u25-macosx-x64.dmg).

For Java versions 6 and below, Apple supplies their own version of Java. For Mac OS X 10.6 and below, use the Software Update feature (available on the Apple menu) to check that you have the most up-to-date version of Java 6 for your Mac. For issues related to Apple Java 6 on Mac, contact Apple Support. Oracle and Java.com only support Java 7. After installing Java for macOS 2012-006, can I continue to use Apple's Java 6 alongside the macOS JDK for Java 13? If you want to continue to develop with Java 6 using command-line, then you can modify the startup script for your favorite command environment.

2. Double-click the downloaded file ‘jdk-8u25-macosx-x64.dmg' and follow the on-screen installation.

3. Once it is successfully installed, it is installed inside /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines folder.

4. Verify that the system is now using JDK 8.

5. If you would like to uninstall JDK 8, simply remove the jdk1.8.0_25.jdk
